BET HIP HOP AWARDS. Guess who won big?
The 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards are in the books.
DJ Khaled hosted the festivities, which included performances from Gucci Mane, Isaiah Rashad, T.I., Desiigner, 21 Savage and more.
Going into the pre-taped September 17 ceremony in Atlanta, Drake led the pack with 14 nominations, and eventually won Video of the Year for his infectious dance moves in “Hotline Bling” as well as Album of the Year for VIEWS.
Chance The Rapper was named Best New Hip Hop Artist for some reason, and his Coloring Book mixtape (his third since 2012) won Mixtape of the Year.
Kendrick Lamar won for Lyricist of the Year, as well as for Best Live Performer. He also presented Snoop Dogg the “I Am Hip Hop” award to commemorate his legendary career.
DJ Khaled made good on his “All I Do Is Win” promise, nabbing trophies for DJ of the Year, MVP of the Year and Hustler of the Year, in addition to his hosting duties.

Big K.R.I.T. addressed racism and police violence head-on in his performance, as did T.I., who performed his protest anthem “We Will Not” surrounded by on-stage #BlackLivesMatter protestors.
